i has a (stupid?) question
...my question is this:

when one of your closest friends of nearly two decades says "Well, I think it might be best if we kind of do our own think for a while", what else can you possibly say in response except "I'm glad you said that, because I was going to say the same thing"???!! Honestly, there is no other answer, no matter what you truly intended to say when that conversation began!

Well, I think at that point you have a right to give your true feelings, especially if they're different. But in the end you have to respect their call, because you can't force people to be around you. Just let it be known that you'll miss them and if they get to a point in their life where they're ready to get on again, you'll be there.

I dunno, u d think after almost twenty years of close friendship they should just know that u r there if they want you... Plus theres pride andnobody likes saying things that sound too mich like beggibg, when the other person is being a bit of an ass..../o\?

Just because you've known someone for twenty years doesn't mean you know them. And I'm saying this with full conviction, because there are people I'm still in contact with on a regular basis that I've known since I was five.

And I don't think that is begging at all. More of a bone, you know? Some people, when they're through with people, they're through. There's no coming back. I would feel like it was important to let that person know I didn't share that sentiment. You never know what life is going to do with you, you know?

I do understand about pride. Oh do I understand. But there are some times when it's best to not let it get in the way.
